What we think we become…
Buddha Quotes. We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
What we think we become
This quote is close to my heart. I remember growing up with my “other mother” who used to study the I Ching (Book of changes) and cast the (three) coins quite often to allow her to interpret for inspiration and guidance.
She taught me to always “picturise, pray-arise and visualise” … and it will come true. Basically the stronger you believe and see something, the easier it will come to you.
I Ching in a nutshell
The I Ching is an ancient Chinese method of divination.
It works similar to tarot in that you need to have a open-ended question in mind. You assign certain values to said coins and then throw them six times to create a hexagram.
Write down your question and continue to think on this question as you throw the coins. In order to find your hexagram you need to assign values to the coins. Then learn the meaning of the numbers in the I Ching and repeat the process six times in total. Then you simply consult the guide book to interpret your hexagram.
There is a lot more to it than that, but you can find out more at wikihow.
What we think, we become. ~ Buddha Click To Tweet
I know its not ideal to mix cultures, but my point here is that in every belief, whether its tarot, buddhist, Chinese etc., there are similarities that pretty much relate to the same thing, interpreted in similar ways, which I find fascinating.
